What?? The parable of the pear tree!!! Have you seen or heard of this parable in the bible?  No, it is not in the Bible, it is a parable written by Kimberly C. Starr about enjoying your season in life. Click on the link or just read it:

A man had four daughters. He wanted them to learn a valuable lesson, so he sent them each on a quest: to observe a single pear tree.

Each daughter traveled to see the pear tree, though each went in a different season. The first daughter saw the tree in the winter. The second in spring. The third daughter saw it in summer. And the last saw it in autumn.

When they all returned home from their travels, they told their father what they’d seen.

The first daughter said the tree was strong, wise, and glistened with light from the sparkling snow. She could see the tree’s inner strength defined.

The second daughter saw it covered in green buds and full of promise.

The third daughter described blossoms that smelled so sweet and a tree that was beautiful. She saw grace.

The last daughter saw a tree full of ripe fruit; she saw it full of life and fulfillment.

The father then explained to them that they were each right, but that each had only seen the tree during a single season. He lovingly reminded them that you cannot judge a tree – or a person – by only one season. Not all things are possible in all seasons. Joy comes from recognizing and appreciating the challenges and opportunities in each season of life

What season of life are you going through at present; divorce, separation from family members, separation from God, financial difficulties, retrenchment health issues, we can go on and on or are you going through good times and life is wonderful?  While waiting for the driveway gate to close this morning I looked up and saw a green haze that I had not seen for some time. The huge tree across the road had green leaves all over it. That made we think of the parable above and the question: what had the tree done to bring new life after a barren season? Nothing, the tree waited on the Lord and the Lord provided in due season.

So what can we learn from the above? Each season is different.  Stay rooted in Faith and blossom in Grace. Wait on the Lord, there is nothing you can do to hurry God. He will provide in His time and in His way.

Let’s pray: Oh Father, I see You are here in the haze of green. It reminds me that sometimes when everything seems lost, all that’s left to do is wait and trust in you to make things new again. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
