I pray that your love will keep on growing more and more, together with true knowledge and perfect judgement.

Philippians 1 : 9

Our Ministers

Lord, You have appointed people to lead in the Church. We thank You for our leader, and for his love for You and all people. Bless him and guide him day by day in Your will and purpose for his life and for the congregation of the church here. Teach him from Your Word as he desires to prepare the message that You want Your people to hear. Cover him with Your grace and love Lord, so that he is enabled to do Your will for his life and for the church and people of this community. Thank You for his family too, supporting him in his duties as Your minister and preacher.

Lord we ask for Your blessing upon all who gather together in this place, to serve You and to learn through the message that is brought to us week by week. May we all work together to teach others about You, Your Son and Your Word. We gather together in Your Name, O Lord, to support one another in our faith walk. Thank You for the structure You have given us, where we can meet for Sunday meetings and also for gatherings during the week. Bless all the activities, the folk who lead as well as those who attend the meetings.

Church Leaders

Lord, You have selected men and women to lead in some area of the church. Thank You for their willingness to help others to grow in their faith and trust in You, and to get to read, know and understand through Bible Study and teachings that are given. There are many areas of responsibility, Lord, and we give You thanks for the people who offer their services to help ensure all goes well in our services and meetings.

South Africa

We bring our land and people to You Lord. We pray for the well-being of all people across our land, that they may live in peace and harmony with all others. We pray against the crime and violence that occurs so frequently. Protect Your people Lord, so that they can live peaceful lives, contributing to the well-being of folk all across South Africa. We pray for the leaders in Parliament, that they will work well together to provide a structure that supports freedom, and no crime. Protect us Lord, from those who would seek to rob, steal, harm and kill. We would live a peaceful life, being led by Your will and way. Bless us all we pray!

The Needy

We name our loved ones before You now, O Lord, many are facing illness, or difficulty, and we pray for Your helping, healing hand of love to rest upon those we bring. May they be restored to full health, O Lord!

Monday 19th August               Psalm 147: 1 - 20

Praise the Lord!   We come before our Lord in our common life assured that He will take care of us, just as He did for the people of Jerusalem those thousands of years ago. God is unchanging. He is constant and true in His loving care for the people who accept Him as Lord God Almighty. He is generous in His loving care – He sends the seasons and the warmth of sun in summer, and the cold winds that herald the coming of winter. He blesses the crops that are sown and waters them with rain from above. He takes care of His people, watching over them with pleasure and delight. He provides food in season for His brave people. He rejoices when they come to the Temple to praise His name. Our Lord God is to be praised forever, for He watches over us with brooding love. Praise the Lord, O my soul! Praise Him for rain in season and the crops that grow. Praise God for His loving care for all who honour and revere Him. He is Lord!

Tuesday 20th August                 1 John 3: 17 - 18

Give and give again!God has been generous in His giving. We have so much that He has blessed us with, far more than we need. Do we share this with others? This is what God requires us to do, to give to those who have little, not because we have to, but because God has placed love in our hearts and we desire to share with others. This is what God’s love does for us. He gives to generous hearts and helps us to share with others who have less than we have. As we see others in need, He stirs in our hearts to help where we can. This is the love that Jesus showed, He gave so completely of all He had and wants us to do the same. God gives us so much and want us to share with those who are less fortunate. We need to be love in action. This will please God. Give thanks for the generosity of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave His all so that we might have Eternity. Thank You, Lord!

Wednesday 21st August          Hebrews 13: 6

The Lord is my Helper! When fear comes upon us, which it does at times, let us claim this promise of God, “Let us be bold, then, and say, “The Lord is my Helper. I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” Whether we face a small hurdle, or an event that terrifies us, let us come to the Lord and give ourselves totally into His hands. He is in charge of life and death and He has promised to take care of us throughout our lives. Trust the Lord. He does what He has promised. Put your faith in Him, for He will always take care of you. Don’t give in to fear, but trust that God goes before you into whatever situation you face. We look to You, O Lord, for our very lives. You called us to be Your own and You take fear from us, replacing it with absolute trust in Your loving presence. Praise the Lord, and forget not all His Promises!

Thursday 22nd August             Exodus 15: 23 - 35

Bitter Water! The Bitter Water at Marah was made pure by Moses obeying the Lord. Then it provided sweet water for the Israelites to drink. We cannot exist without potable water. At times in our lives we may experience bitter water through some negative action on the part of another towards us. No matter what we try to do we cannot get past this bitterness. It hold us like chains that bind, and it is only when we can forgive the people and circumstances and allow God to heal us we can go forward once more. We can weep bitter tears over the betrayal of a beloved friend or family member, but we must realize that hanging on to the bitterness we face destroys our happiness. Yield to the Lord, who can remove the bitterness we feel. Rejoice in His loving kindness, for He makes all things new! Thanks to God Almighty!

Friday 23rd August           John 17: 8

The Message! The message of the Lord has been left for us as a blessing for the whole of mankind. He came to earth to draw us back to the heart of God, the place where we find our work, and what He has prepared for us. Each one of us has a specific and special purpose, to do what God requires of us. He chose His beloved Son to be the Saviour of all mankind. In the same way He chose you and I for a special task that will bring glory to His name. Whatever we do in Jesus’ Name is a message of love from God Himself. He places His word in our hearts and sets our feet on the path He wants us to take. That path gives honour to our Lord and our God as we walk steadily and purposefully forward, day by day, to the time of meeting. We are the message of love, hope and joy for our Lord, a blessing for all mankind. Praise God for choosing us as His message bearers.

Saturday 24th August              Psalm 119: 54

God’s commands! David was a great Psalmist who wrote regularly about life and devotion to God. He lived to worship Him and to obey His commands. It is commendable to find someone as dedicated as this, one who turns to the Lord always first of all – seeking His wise counsel and His requirements. If we come to the Lord in the morning hours, and give the day into His Hands, He will surely bless us and guide us all day long. Many people say that God’s commands are too difficult, but for someone who loves the Lord and wants to please Him His commands are not difficult at all. If your heart is set on pleasing God and doing what He requires then following His commands is easy. Know the joy of living in close contact to the Lord of all. He will guide us on safe paths. Praise to our blessed Lord and our God. Hallelujah!

Sunday 25th August

We come Lord, seeking Your presence, so that we can worship before You. You are our Lord and our God, and we honour and praise Your Holy Name. Blessed is the Lord God Almighty, and His Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. We thank You for Your loving care given so readily day by day, and for Your watching over us so that we can rest each night. Lord, may Your will be done in our lives, so that we can be a blessing to others. Fill our hearts with love for all people, and may we serve You in the best way possible. You call us to gather together week by week, to worship before You and to hear Your message brought to us. May we continue to seek Your truth and Your will for our lives. We bless and praise You, dear Lord, and raise our hearts in love to You. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits. Praise Him, now and forever, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,. We love You Lord, and follow Your instructions and teachings. Bless You, our Lord and our God. Hallelujah!
